This residential project centres on the idea that a carpet can do more than simply ground a space — it can quietly shape its atmosphere. The brief called for a rich blue cut pile wool carpet that would bring depth and interest without overwhelming the interior.

Using our 80/20 Axminster Spice micro-pattern, the design introduces a soft, medium-toned blue base, layered with a fine peppering of deeper and lighter blues. This subtle variation creates a sense of movement and visual depth, lifting what would otherwise be a flat field of colour. The interplay between tone and texture allows the carpet to feel both calm and considered — restrained at a distance, yet expressive up close.
